biography

Born a ‘free range’ kid in Fairfield County Connecticut with limited access to a TV, we had to find other ways to entertain ourselves other than repeating ‘I don’t know, what do you want to do’ to each other over and over. Things like reading, building ‘forts’ or exploring places that my parents would have a heart attack knowing about. But most of the time we leaned on our imaginations to entertain us, making imaginary movies with elaborate action sequences, or creating a local newspaper and gathering ‘news’.

I was drawn to performance right from my first church play when I was five. I played Adam, and my big scene was being ‘put to sleep’ so they could ‘take my rib to make Eve’. I think I may have made it more of a ‘death scene’ because I remember enjoying the audience’s reaction way too much.

I went on to do other performances in elementary school, and despite it being strongly discouraged and downright disparaged by my father, my love of performance stayed with me.

My journey back to performance had quite a few pitstops. I studied marine science, engineering and later photography. I DJ’d at my school’s radio station, and worked as a photographer’s assistant, location scout and portrait photographer.

A fashion photographer/filmmaker I had become close with told me one day that he had written a part for me in a film he was directing. I hadn’t touched acting since University and blurted “but I’m not an actor!” Chuckling he replied “I know… it’s perfect.”

I went on to study and work with many wonderful directors and teachers in NYC and LA.

Now full circle back to Fairfield CT, when I’m not on-set or recording in the booth you can find me reluctantly cooking, digging up clams, or doing any number of adventurous-ish outdoor activities.
